Death Penalty 3

Stages- I think the stages for the death penalty is the pre-trial, guilt phase trial, penalty phase trial, direct appeal, post-conviction review, and finally Federal habeas corpus. The pre trial is how they get the criminal, and when arrested read rights, and it's the set up for the guilt phase trial. The 6th ammendment is right to a free trial, and therefore that is the guilt phase trial. And Finally that goes with  the penalty phase trial. The Direct appeal gives the defendant a chance to prove there was mismtakes. And the review process is to make sure that they did nothing wrong and the Federal habeas corpus takes it the federal courts if allowed and the allow it to see if it was constitutional at the highest stage. All of these make the death penalty able to be constitutional.

Methods- I think the only humane one is lethal injection. Lethal injection just gets it over with quikly and you can be at peace. The other 5 are not humane they are all cruel. All of them could feel very bad pain. Hanging someone if they are not exact the person could be hanging alive for up to 45 min. All of them have there weekness, but none of them are humane if they screw it up. Lethal injection you put in the needle and in a matter of time the person is asleep, and about to die.

States- California has most  people on death row. 14 states don't have the death penalty anymore. Texas and oklahoma both have 3 women on death row.

It  does cost more money for the execution itself, but I still believe they need the death penalty.
